Because simply having objects is never the ultimate goal, logistics always plays a supporting role. The object is going to be used or is needed for some other process and it is logistics that makes this possible.

Our expertise in transport & logistics starts with information being the object. We design and refine processes to get the right information to the place where it will be used at the time it is needed. By providing this information, logistics can help you to make the right decisions and take the right actions.

The information that we process is often ultimately about physical goods involved in a logistics process (so about the object that is being moved to be at the right place at the right time). The information is primarily used to control and support physical logistics processes, such as moving factory activities to a warehouse or even straight to a client. And if it’s going to a warehouse, where is there free space? And if it goes to the client, have they paid their last bill? Oh, the wonder of logistics…

In order to process all this information we have a kind of central factory. It can send and receive all kinds of information in all shapes and sizes, and can also pass incoming information on to the destination where it is needed straight away. This department of our factory is called the transport layer.

As the information is being processed by the factory, we can also repackage the information, pick out certain interesting parts, mix with other information and generally translate and classify it before sending it on. This department is called the transformation layer.

Finally, we can remember certain details from the information that has been processed previously, so that it can be used later to enrich, supplement, or make information more valuable in some other way. This department is called the content refinery.
