BASIC user guide set up

BASIC is an online service that secures and analyses the data from an analog or digital tachograph. The service is provided by a constantly accessible service centre and can be used via a secured internet connection. This allows you to upload the data of the tachograph from any location and makes it exclusively available for your company. This guide is for all users of BASIC and describes the set up of this unique application and the daily use. There are five types of users with different responsibilities and access rights:

An administrator is responsible for setting up other users, fleets and vehicles.
A fleet manager is responsible for the vehicle and driver data of his fleet.
A service manager is responsible for scanning and preliminary processing of the tachograph discs.
A service partner is responsible for administrating the data of its costumers.
A driver can, as an user, upload his own driver card and consult his own data.

An administrator can also take the role of the fleet manager and a fleet manager can act on behalf of the driver. Both can act on behalf of a service manager.

What do I need for the usage of the webportal?: You need a PC connected to Internet with Windows 2000 or higher. Additionally you can use a Siemens VDO Downloadkey in connection with a card reader or an OPTAC device (combination of both devices). For scanning of analog tachograph discs you need a special modified scanner. For details please visit the hardware components helper in web shop at www.enovation-shop.com.
How do I add a driver card to a manually registered driver?: Please choose in the menu "Management/driver" the driver and "add a driver card". Please follow the instructions shown on the screen!
What to do if a driver gets a new driver card?: Please chose in menu "Management/driver" the driver, and "add a driver card". Please follow the instructions shown on screen!
Usage of multiple user rights versions.: One should allocate only one kind of right, that means either Administrator or Fleet Manager or Service Manager. In other cases it can result in display errors. This is a known bug and will be solved in a future release.
